The 2026 NCAA softball season is one step closer to wrapping up — the D1 tournament selection show takes place Sunday. The biggest tournament at the collegiate level will soon be underway, with games getting started at 16 regional sites on Friday.

Thursday marked the start of the 2026 Idaho high school softball state tournaments. Numerous Treasure Valley schools are in the running for state championships, and several of them won their first games to advance into the winner’s brackets in the double-elimination events.
