Request for Locking valve caps. I am no fan of locking caps but they have been code since 2009! We do need to have all the keys ahead of time. NoVent has 2 key types. JB Shield uses 2 prongs C&D uses a valve core as a key Supco & Uniweld use hex (Allen) as a key. Gas Guard was discontinued but it used a simple magnet and finger right or an adjustable wrench to open. Turtech tools carries the JB SHLD-MULTI that has most of the keys in one. Locking caps are now coded in many places... After a long conversation with Tyler Nelson from Sauermann he mentioned some inspectors are failing installs due to no locking caps. In the video are the Novent caps from Rectorseal. Also, before using an electronic leak detector, get a refrigerant sample first to make sure that it works.
