We’ve started the planning process to upgrade the Bankstown Line to metro standards – this means faster travel times, new air-conditioned metro trains and all stations between Bankstown and Sydenham will have lifts and level access between the platforms and trains. Commuters on a packed Sydney Metro service have copped an unusual shock after the train took off with one door wide open. Vision posted to social media shows the service - which is said to have run at approximately 8am on Wednesday morning from Victoria Cross towards Central - hurtling along the tracks with the open door.
