The Castle Doctrine justifies the use of force in defense of your home or legally occupied space, including your vehicle or workplace. Think of it as your right to protect your “castle.” There’s no duty to retreat—you aren’t required to back down before defending yourself. However, this use of force must be based on a reasonable belief that the intruder poses an imminent threat.
